Nia Archives Launches Up Ya Archives Records – clashmusic.com

Newgen junglist Nia Archives has launched her own label, Up Ya Archives Records.
The producer won overwhelming acclaim with her debut album, earning Mercury and BRIT nominations. Chatting to CLASH on the BRIT Awards red carpet recently, Nia revealed she’s working on new material, aiming to construct a follow-up to her breakthrough debut.
New label Up Ya Archives Records is part of her creative process. A space for Nia to explore different aspects of her craft while uplifting other voices, the imprint launches with a soca-tinged system burner.
Out now, ‘Get Loose’ finds Nia working with Cheetah, the two production voices intermingling perfectly. They go back a long way – Nia stumbled across his music on Bandcamp, and played his ‘Spin Sugar’ during her debut BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix.
‘Get Loose’ is an ode to tumultuous nights out, and the power of unleashing your energy in the rave. Loud and raucous, it finds Up Ya Archives Records delivering gold from the start.
Speaking on the track, Cheetah says:
The track came together pretty naturally. It’s essentially an ode to soundsystem and party culture. It’s about that feeling of being completely one on one with the music, head buried into the rig and feeling the bass rattle your ribs. It’s all pretty simple but super energetic, the lyrics are literally an instruction. We took huge inspiration from soca letting the super energetic vocals take control of the track.
Nia adds:
‘Get Loose’ is about getting loose with the gang. It’s us being care free and not caring too much about what everyone else is up to, we just wanna have some fun!
