Alt-rock singer-songwriter SkyDxddy shares the music video for “Choker” ahead of the release of her debut full-length album TRAUMACORE (RAW & UNCUT), out May 16. Similar to the song itself, the music video for “Choker” flawlessly explores how catharsis can be found in expressing your rage.
SkyDxddy’s debut record arrives during Mental Health Awareness month, further instilling a core theme in the singer’s artistry. Known for conveying a variety of themes in her music, including abuse, body dysmorphia, anxiety, addiction, and more, SkyDxddy offers a heavy and brutal source of healing within her work.
Regarding “Choker,” SkyDxddy says, “I wrote ‘Choker’ about what it feels like to live in survival mode and still smile through it. It’s about looking fine but barely breathing. People with anxiety get really good at hiding it. ‘Choker’ is my way of saying ‘I see you’ to the ones who are struggling silently.”
Pulling inspiration from a wide variety of musical genres, SkyDxddy brings together dark pop with heavy alt-rock influences to create something extremely catchy and ferocious. Possessing a bold and admirable fearlessness in her musicality, SkyDxddy is unafraid to explore what often makes us afraid. On TRAUMACORE, the artist will inspire listeners across 13 distinct tracks.
