Rising alt-pop artist Gelli Haha shares “Funny Music,” the latest single to come ahead of her debut album Switcheroo, due June 27 via Innovative Leisure. Directly following the album’s lead single “Bounce House,” “Funny Music” is an experimental pop ear worm as it pulls influences from the likes of Blondie or Kate Bush.
Claiming to exist “somewhere between Studio 54 and Area 51,” Haha is fueled by humor, charm, and intentional performance to make a name for herself as one of alternative pop’s most exciting rising stars. Incorporating retro pop elements with a modern wit, Haha flawlessly conveys duality within her artistry, capturing both sincere and humorous, inspiration and innovation.
“Funny Music” arrives ahead of Haha’s inaugural debut record, set to release this summer. Switcheroo in its entirety is ignited by experimentation. With the help of producer Sean Guerin, Haha incorporates a wide number of recording instruments and tools to create a project that perfectly captures her artistic approach to songwriting.
