NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas — The bustling streets of downtown New Braunfels will soon transform into a vibrant festival ground, as the city prepares to host a city-wide celebration of food, music, and culture. The event, which is free and open to the public, will see multiple streets surrounding the Main Plaza closed off to accommodate the festivities.
Jenna Vinson, the Director of Communications and Community Engagement for the city, expressed her enthusiasm for the unique opportunity. "Everybody gets to hang out in the streets and on the plaza and in the bandstand," she said. "It's not often that we get to close down the streets and use the plaza like a park that it is."
Local businesses are also gearing up for the influx of visitors. William Mayo, co-owner of New Braunfels Coffee, is eager for the economic boost the festival is expected to bring. "We're going to have hundreds, if not thousands of people down here," he said. "We really do enjoy and we love seeing it boost New Braunfels Coffee as well to bring the community together."
The celebration will kick off on Saturday at noon, with park-and-ride services available from New Braunfels City Hall. Vinson encouraged attendees to "just enjoy some good vibes in downtown New Braunfels."
Mayo echoed the excitement, saying, "We're just absolutely nuts. New Braunfels Coffee is so excited…We cannot wait to see everybody."
