Miley Cyrus on Cutting Back Direct Access to Her – EntertainmentNow

Singer Miley Cyrus reflected on how her relationship with fans has changed since she left the Disney Channel.
The “Flowers” singer spoke with Apple Music 1’s Zane Lowe in an interview set to be released on Wednesday, according to an exclusive clip obtained by E! News.
Cyrus explained that she felt like a “friend to the world” while starring on the popular Disney show “Hannah Montana.” Since she left, Cyrus said she felt a shift in her relationship with her fans.
“There was something accessible because I was on TV and I was touring,” she said.
The 32-year-old explained how she feels as though there is no longer “direct access” since she is not on the TV screen each night.
“That’s a change for my audience to feel that they don’t have this direct access the way that you would’ve had every night on your TV,” Cyrus continued.
The Grammy winner added how media has changed since her Disney role from 2006 to 2011.
“Because when you were little, you would watch episodes of ‘Hannah Montana’ and you would hear me all day if you wanted to listen to my music,” she said.
The former Disney Channel star penned a heartfelt tribute to her “alter ego” Hannah Montana on the 15th anniversary of the character’s debut in March 2021.
“Although you are considered to be an ‘alter ego,’ in reality there was a time in my life when you held more of my identity in your glovette than I did in my bare hands,” Cyrus said in the handwritten letter that was shared to social media.
She reflected on the ups and downs she experienced over the time she wore the blonde wig and expressed her forever gratitude for being able to play the role.
“Hannah, I hope you hear me + believe those words are true,” Cyrus continued. “You have all my love and upmost gratitude. Breathing life into you for those 6 years was an honor.”
The singer is set to release her new album “Something Beautiful” on May 30.
The 13 song track list includes one song featuring the Alabama Shakes singer Brittany Howard and one with supermodel Naomi Campbell.
