LVRA and Soda Plains align on new EP ‘Fortress’.
Out now, the EP brings together two fascinating talents, with Chinese-Scottish artist LVRA linking up alongside the international voyager Soda Plains.
The two got together in Berlin a few months back, the ideas flowing freely from their easy-going conversations.
The full EP is out now on Eastern Margins, containing fan favourite ‘Hard Decisions’ and the explicitly emotive ‘Crushed’. The project is well worth your time – sombre, exploratory electronics, it’s lit up by their melodic nous.
LVRA and Soda Plains comment…
We just wanted to make music that we liked, something we felt was increasingly hard to do in the current climate. Collaborating together helped us to capture some of that tension in a format that felt unbounded.
Separately we’d absorbed a lot of thoughts between our own solo projects about ways to write, ways to live-so we closed ourselves off for a few days to write in Berlin and made the demos for ‘Fortress’. Whilst the studio is our place of safety, we continue to push for freedom in it.
Tune in now.
