LAMIA has unleashed her latest single, ‘Cobra’.
A reflection on her time spent between London and Berlin’s creative underbelly, the self-produced track carries a punkish flare, opting for a mystical production edge. Drawing towards the influence of deconstructed, industrial club records, the riser pieces together a dynamic and visceral listen, pointing her focus on experimental soundscapes.
The current day sees LAMIA gear up towards her upcoming album, evolving her craft in new directions. Throughout the yet-to-be-announced tracklist, she taps into phonk and hip-hop with an alternative twist, fleshing out her visual artistry through self-directed music videos. From start to finish, ‘Cobra’ peels back yet another layer of the artist’s catalogue, shaping a shadowy and enimgmatic world around LAMIA..
Speaking on the track, the artist expands: “Cobra is punk without guitars. I created everything on this track, so all the production, lyrics, and arrangement are a raw and direct expression of my emotion in the sound. It makes fun of the idea that we are not enough, and I think people are fed up with being made to feel this.”
