Kae Tempest Announces New Album ‘Self Titled’ – clashmusic.com

Kae Tempest will release new album ‘Self Titled’ on July 4th.
The South London wordsmith is a pivotal talent, with Kae Tempest signalling their return with a titanic headline set at Manchester’s Radio 6 Music Festival.
New album ‘Self Titled’ follows, and it will land on July 4th. Kae handled production alongside Fraser T Smith, with guests on the record including Pet Shop Boys’ legend Neil Tennant, Connie Constance, and Young Fathers.
The album’s first single, ‘Statue In The Square’, was released in March, and Kae Tempest continues their story on new release ‘Know Yourself’.
Poetic, literate, and emotionally engaging, ‘Know Yourself’ completes the circle, a self-referencing work of autobiography.
Kae comments…
“I love this song. It samples a lyric I wrote years ago, where my younger self is talking to their younger self. A dialogue between selves across time, in real time. Or maybe I could put that simpler – When I was young I sought help from my older self. I came into my head, I told me know yourself.”
Tune in now.
