James Massiah Shares New ‘Bounty Law’ EP – clashmusic.com

James Massiah has shared his new EP ‘Bounty Law’ in full.
The London artist is a singular force, blending from-the-hip spoken word to electronic production. A cult figure in the city and beyond, James Massiah’s latest work recalibrates break-up tropes through the lens of a fantasy Western.
Out now, ‘Bounty Law’ is a deft-eight tracker, absorbing in its idiosyncrasies and deft in its use of world-building finesse.
Was it my fault that we broke up? When did the communication break down? Was I partying too much? Should we have settled down? Is it too late?”
James Massiah leads from the front, his performances twisting and turning on a hair-pin. The sonic palette draws from some adventurous studio technicians, enlisting producers Cajm (Powerplant, Coby Sey) Cold (Jawnino) 3o (Jawnino, Squintz) and Poundshop (feeo), and Oliver Twist, with mastering handled by Tommy Wallwork (Mount Kimbie).
Set to launch the EP at London’s Lower Third on May 10th, James will also transform his regular poetry night Adult Entertainment into an all-dayer at the Haggerston on June 27th.
Tune in now.
