The formerly popular Intertidal Music Festival is back in Port Edward for the first time since 2018 and will run from July 18 to 20.
„Hosted at the North Pacific Cannery – a National Historic Site and the last remaining intact salmon cannery on the Pacific Coast – the festival will take place in a setting rich in history,“ said Port Edward mayor Knut Bjorndal.
Built in 1889, the cannery still contains much of its original equipment, offering an authentic historical backdrop for the event.
„The event is expected to draw visitors from across the Northwest, providing a valuable opportunity to showcase the distinct character and beauty of both Port Edward and Prince Rupert,“ said the mayor.
The fest will showcase more than 20 bands and artists of various genres from the Pacific Northwest and beyond on three vibrant stages. This includes the renowned Canadian rock band „Current Swell“, the dynamic „Spiritual Warriors“, „The Rats“, and „Triple Bypass“. Additional performers include „Infectious“, „Sustain“, „Kate Pike and the Loose Boots“, „Somber Seas“, „Men Who Listen“, „The Swells“, „JJ Sway“, „Rabbit Soup“, and many more.
Bjorndal says that the Port Edward Historical Society and the District of Port Edward are thrilled to support the efforts of Tourism Prince Rupert in organizing the event.
„The intertidal Music festival highlights the culture and natural richness of the region and offers increased exposure to everything it has to offer. We hope to see this continue as an annual tradition.“
