Hudson River Music Festival will make its debut on Saturday, June 14th, 2025 at Croton Point Park in Croton On Hudson, NY, carrying on the legacy of Pete and Toshi Seeger’s long-running Clearwater Festival with a celebration of music, nature, community, and environmental action.
Produced by Riverfest FPS (For Pete’s Sake), Dayglo Presents, and Harper House Music Foundation, the inaugural Hudson River Music Festival will host performances by Grahame Lesh & Friends (featuring the son of Grateful Dead bassist Phil Lesh alongside Goose guitarist Rick Mitarotonda, Dead & Company bassist Oteil Burbridge, Dark Star Orchestra keyboardist Rob Barraco, Trey Anastasio Band trumpeter/vocalist Jennifer Hartswick, and Dawes co-founders guitarist/vocalist Taylor Goldsmith and drummer Griffin Goldsmith), Lucius (playing an acoustic set with the Goldsmith brothers), Madison Cunningham, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Hot Tuna‘s Jorma Kaukonen, and Steve Earle & Friends.
Additional highlights will include family-friendly activities like The Rock and Roll Playhouse, boat-building workshops, and an immersive puppet show. Attendees can also enjoy a moment of nature’s tranquility in Pete & Toshi’s Grove, a peaceful space dedicated to honoring the legacies of Pete and Toshi Seeger. The couple founded Clearwater Festival in 1966 in the wake of the Storm King Mountain controversy—a landmark legal battle to prevent a hydroelectric plant from being built on the Hudson River—with the mission to promote environmental awareness and advocacy through the power of music and community engagement.
“We started with a vision to bring back a beloved festival to Croton Point Park,” said RiverFest FPS co-founders Mitzi Elkes, Hal Cohen, and Roy Volpe. “Pete Seeger taught us about the power of music to connect people, learn about the environment, and commit to work together for a sustainable planet – as important today as it was fifty years ago.”
“We are super honored to be continuing the magic that was created at Croton Point Park for many years,” added Dayglo Presents founder Peter Shapiro. “Given the upheaval in the world, it feels good to have such a solid piece of history return again. We are going to do our very best to do something new and fresh, while also respecting the roots of how this new festival came to be.”
