Detroit electronic trio HiTech – that’s King Milo, Milf Melly, and 47Chops – have released a new mixtape, ‘HONEYPAQQ Vol. 1’, out via Loma Vista Recordings.
Underpinned by a unique dance phraseology – the “Ghettotech” synthetic sound they’ve made their own since their debut in 2022 – ‘HONEYPAQQ Vol. 1’ is a packed transatlantic feast, with the likes of DEBBY FRIDAY, Vayda, George Riley, ZelooperZ, and Na-Kel Smith featuring.
The fourteen-track mixtape includes last year’s ‘SPANK!’ and is a boundary-blurring blend of warped soul and syncopated beats that glide across the Detroit techno, Chicago house and punk continuum. The tracklist moves from Drexciya-esque sedate atmospherics with melodies that leisurely unfurl, to juiced-up party anthems that skirt both the underground and mainstream.
This summer, HiTech will perform across the UK and Europe with an unmissable run of live shows and major festival appearances, including Glastonbury, Detroit’s MOVEMENT, All Points East, Latitude, Green Man, Dekmantel, Outlook, FUSION, Roskilde and more.
