HAIM Announce New Album ‘I quit’ – clashmusic.com

West Coast trio HAIM will release new album ‘I quit’ on June 20th.
The band are back, with recent singles ‘Relationships’ and ‘Everybody’s trying to figure me out’ displaying their nuanced grasp of pop songwriting. Lifting their ambitions still further, HAIM have caused a ruckus online, with the imagery echoing popular break-up and divorce memes.
Moving ahead at pace, new album ‘I quit’ is out this summer. Set to be released on June 20th via Polydor Records, it’s available to pre-order now.
The band’s 2020 album ‘Women In Music Pt. 3’ was a huge global success, winning a BRIT award in the process. On its release, CLASH wrote:
With an album of this size, downfalls are typically inevitable; that one song that doesn’t hit the mark or a chorus that doesn’t strike a chord. But here, HAIM have given us the world on a silver platter, and in times like these, it’s the perfect antidote to normality.

As some added spice, HAIM have shared a brand new single. ‘Down to be wrong’ continues the relationship theme, with the lyrics discussing the end of one phase in their lives, and the beginning of another.
A song that revels in self-worth, ‘Down to be wrong’ doesn’t want to be explicit – “Don’t need you to understand, don’t know if you can” – but the climactic line is a dose of righteous assurance: “Red Lights are up ahead, but I keep walking.”
The video for ‘Down to be wrong’ is out now, and was directed by Bradley and Pablo (Harry Styles, Charli XCX, Rosalia ) – watch out for a role by heartthrob Logan Lerman.
