YouTube Music is set to add two interesting features that will change the way music is consumed in the app. According to Android Authority, the service will borrow one of the features associated with video apps like TikTok. From now on, double-tapping on an album cover will grant a “like,” which will change the algorithm and favor music recommendations from the artist or related artists. Neither Spotify nor Apple Music have implemented this feature yet, nor have they announced any plans to do so in the future.

This is not the only new feature coming to YouTube Music. The Google company will implement an option that will allow to adjust the volume constantly, a functionality similar to YouTube’s volume stabilizer. It will allow to “normalize” the volume of the different tracks to reduce sound imbalances in the music. This feature was one of the most requested by the community and will finally be available from the playback menu.
YouTube Music is included with the YouTube Premium package. The individual subscription costs $13.99 per month (2 months free), while the family subscription can be purchased for $22.99 (1 month trial). Students have the option of subscribing for a lower price, $7.99 per month (and yes, there is a free monthly subscription as well).
