Ghost have officially started their Skeleta World Tour 2025 with a concert at the AO Arena in Manchester, England. The band has their latest album Skeleta coming out on April 25th. With two singles under their belt including “Satanized” and “Lachryma”, they also played two new tracks in “Umbra” and “Peacefield” from the upcoming album. The rest of the setlist included some of the best tracks from their catalog. We have the setlist thanks to our friends at Setlist.fm.
From the looks of it, this new setlist is pretty dreamy for Ghost fans. It hits all the various eras of the band, and even has some tracks off Meliora that they haven’t played in a bit on tour. “Devil Church” hasn’t been played since 2022, “Majesty” hasn’t been played since 2019, and same with “Spirit”. They also played “Darkness At The Heart Of My Love” for the first time ever in addition to “The Future Is A Foreign Land”. “Monstrance Clock” hasn’t been played live since 2018.
Some fans might be disappointed that there are only one track from Impera and Opus Eponymous on the set, but they did just play most of impera on tour for the last cycle.
Overall, the lucky fans in attendance were there to witness some of these songs being performed for the first time ever. We’ll still have to wait for another ten days to hear the new tracks on the record.
GHOST’s sixth psalm, SKELETÁ, is its most unflinchingly introspective work to date. Where previous GHOST albums dealt largely with chronicling and/or observing outward facing subject matter—such as IMPERA’s meditations on the rise and fall of empires and its predecessor Prequelle’s evocations of the ravages of era-defining plagues—SKELETA’s lyrics render the distinct individual emotional vistas of each of its 10 songs in one-on-one fashion, at times as if in a dialogue with oneself in a mirror. The end result is a singular collection of timeless, universal sentiments, all filtered through a prism of a uniquely personal point of view.
The genesis of SKELETÁ is rooted in the wake of a world-spanning years-long touring campaign in support of IMPERA—a period that saw IMPERA top album charts  the world over and winning an American Music Award and an iHeart Radio Music Award, as well as the band earning its first RIAA-certified platinum single (“Mary on a Cross”) and presiding over the highest grossing hard rock cinema event in North American history (its feature film debut RITE HERE RITE NOW). As this sustained maelstrom ultimately wound down, GHOST mastermind Tobias Forge’s next uncharted creative direction would prove to be an inward journey. This deeply introspective turn in Forge’s creative process would ultimately result in SKELETÁ:  a collection of 10 new songs originating from and cutting as close to the bone as (in)humanly possible.
The world awaits the release of Skeleta.
