Empowering careers with the right connections, knowledge and support.
The most prestigious celebrations of songwriters, composers and their champions.
To kick off Ivors Week, we have unveiled a new brand and website as part of a major relaunch of our membership offer, reaffirming our commitment to be the organisation that music creators deserve.
For over 80 years, The Ivors Academy has protected, empowered and celebrated songwriters and composers through its world-renowned awards, campaigns that challenge inequality, and opportunities including writing camps, mentoring and networking. With the launch of a free Discovery membership tier, a refreshed visual identity and improved member benefits, the Academy is evolving to meet the needs of today’s music creators while honouring its legacy.
Roberto Neri, CEO of The Ivors Academy, said: „This is a new chapter for The Ivors Academy that has been 81 years in the making. We are now the value-added partner that songwriters and composers deserve – that fights to protect their rights, empowers them with knowledge and opportunities, and celebrates their highest achievements on the global stage. It’s easier than ever to join The Ivors Academy, to add your voice to ours, and to help us do even more to champion this incredible creative community.“
Discovery membership offers music creators a new way to engage with the Academy’s work and support its campaigns for a stronger future for music. Free to join, Discovery members receive curated content, campaign updates, and early access to pay-as-you-go benefits. A new Patron membership has also launched, giving established music creators the opportunity to give back and help fund new initiatives that support the community. Become a member today.
In addition, individuals who value songwriting and composing can become a friend of The Ivors Academy, supporting the organisation’s vital work to protect rights, celebrate excellence and influence cultural policy.
Grace Croucher, Membership and Senior Events Manager, said: „Our new membership options make it easier for more songwriters and composers to connect with The Ivors Academy in ways that suit them. Whether you’re just starting out, developing your career, are at the top of your game or want to give back, there’s a place for you. By growing our membership, we will increase our influence, strengthen our community, and provide more music creators with the support and representation they deserve.”
The redesigned website brings together the Academy’s campaigns, membership benefits, news and awards into one seamless platform – making it easier than ever for members, supporters and the public to stay informed, get involved and find support. At the heart of the new brand is a deep connection to the craft of songwriting and composing. Inspired by Euterpe, the Greek muse of music and lyric poetry, the new logo and identity symbolise the Academy’s belief in the power and importance of music creators.
Mark Taylor, Director of Marketing and Communications, said: „As an organisation that proudly promotes the craft of music creation, we now have an identity and platform that fully represents and supports our members. By uniting our awards and Academy brands, we’re building a stronger global presence and making it more compelling and easier for everyone to engage with our work.“
The relaunch comes at the start of Ivors Week, which features The Ivors Academy Summit on 20 May at BFI IMAX – bringing together over 30 global music industry leaders and acclaimed music creators. The last few tickets remain, book now.
The week culminates in The Ivors, the most prestigious celebration of songwriting and composing, on 22 May at Grosvenor House in London. While the event is sold out, Amazon Music will stream exclusive behind-the-scenes content, performances and interviews live on Twitch.
