Florence Road have shared their ace new single ‘Caterpillar’.
The Wicklow four-piece are already making waves, with each release seeming to go viral. Matching indie rock aspects against some elements of 90s pop production, Florence Road anchor their approach in fantastic songwriting.
Out now, new single ‘Caterpillar’ finds the Wicklow band at their most open. A plaintive return, singer Lily spearheaded the song, before each member began to chip away at it.
An acoustic ballad that presents Florence Road in full-blown intimate mode, you can hear aspects of everyone from The Cranberries to Phoebe Bridgers in their DNA.
What comes through most distinctly of all, however, is Florence Road’s assured sense of identity, and their grasp of intent.
The band will be playing at The Great Escape, with Florence Road saying ‘Caterpillar’ – “Thank you to everyone who helped make this little song so big…”
Tune in now.
