Early years music providers invited to take part in 'UK's biggest' free music-making weekend – Nursery World

UK charity Music for All’s annual event, Learn to Play, is returning from 9-12 October and provides opportunities for people to experience a free taster music-making lesson.
The charity is looking for a wide range of music providers, including early years settings, schools, music teachers and retailers, who want to share their love for music making to take part in the event, which will take place across the UK.
Running for over a decade, Learn to Play aims to inspire, encourage and enable new and lapsed music makers to enjoy the benefits of music making, as well as connect and champion UK music providers through a shared celebration of music making.
It comes at a time when music education is being severely impacted by Government cuts to the arts.
Sonali Banerjee, Music for All’s general manager, said, ‘We have extended Learn to Play to four days this year which we hope increases opportunities for a variety of music providers to take part. We want to engage anyone who is passionate about widening access to music making so as many people as possible are able to join in the UK’s biggest free music-making weekend.’
