Diddy Allegedly ‘Threatened’ to ‘Hurt’ Cassie and Her Boyfriend Kid Cudi – Variety

Cassie Ventura returned to the witness stand in Sean “Diddy” Combs’ federal trial on Wednesday, detailing how the mogul threatened to harm both her and her boyfriend Kid Cudi (aka Scott Mescudi) after he discovered their relationship.
During her testimony, Cassie recalled that she started dating Cudi in 2011 for a brief time. They began as friends and worked together before they started dating while she and Combs were “not in the greatest place.” Combs discovered Cassie and Cudi’s relationship during a “freak-off,” or a days-long sex party, after he allegedly went through her phone and found emails she had sent to one of his staff members.
Cassie said that upon learning of their relationship, Combs put a wine corkscrew between his fingers and “lunged at me,” stating that “his eyes blacked out” and that he was “super angry.” Though she was not harmed by Combs, Cassie fled the hotel during the “freak-off” and called Cudi on a burner phone she kept to conceal the relationship from Combs. Cudi picked her up on the street and subsequently took her to his house.
That evening, Cassie ended up going back to Combs’ home to resolve the issue. She described him as “irate” and said he told her “he was going to hurt Scott and [me].” She then said that Combs threatened to release “freak-off” videos and when she tried to leave his home, he kicked her in the back and she fell to the floor, bruising her lower back.
On Dec. 23, 2011, Cassie sent an email to her mother with one of Combs’ employees CC’d. She wrote that Combs “is going to release two explicit sex tapes of me” and said he threatened to release one of the “freak-off” videos on Christmas Day. After traveling to Connecticut for the holidays, her mother took photos of the bruising on her lower back that were shown in court.
Cassie initially filed her bombshell lawsuit against Combs in November 2023, describing her brief relationship with Cudi and referencing the incident with the corkscrew. She also stated that in February 2012, Combs said he was “going to blow up Kid Cudi’s car,” and that the “Pursuit of Happiness” singer’s car subsequently exploded in his driveway soon after. Representatives for Cudi confirmed her account to The New York Times.
Ventura will continue to testify against Combs as his criminal trial escalates in New York. If he’s convicted on sex trafficking and racketeering charges, Combs faces a possible life sentence in prison.
