The release is the band’s first of the year and begins their next era following the acclaim of 2022’s Dark Sun.
Melodic metalcore unit Dayseeker have debuted their first presentation of new music for the year. „Pale Moonlight“ serves as the band’s first submission since 2022’s acclaimed LP, Dark Sun and officially begins the band’s current iteration with vocalist Rory Rodriguez, guitarist Gino Sgambelluri, bassist Ramone Valerio and drummer Zac Mayfield working at full strength.
Anchored by a emotive showing from Rodriguez out in front, the introspective vocals combined with the well-balanced delivery of melody and heft make for a formative return. Shifting from delicate to forceful, the track inevitably builds to an eruptive finale, asserting Dayseeker’s range as players and performers.
Enlisting an A-list roster of personnel to bring „Pale Moonlight“ to fruition, Dayseeker worked with producer Daniel Braunstein (Spiritbox, Silent Planet) and had the track mixed by Zakk Cervini (Blink-182, Lorna Shore). For the accompanying music video, the band entrusted director Jensen Noen (Black Veil Brides, Bring Me the Horizon, Falling In Reverse) to bring the song’s story to life.
Rodriguez shares some insight on the themes of the single and how that drives such a convincing performance. „‚Pale Moonlight‘ is about giving in to your vices. It’s about the addiction to things that you know are toxic for you — but you simply can’t stop yourself.“
