It’s been awhile since there was word on what Mudvayne have been cooking up in the studio. Upon reuniting back in 2021, the progressive nü-metal band were admittedly a bit leery to fully commit to the idea of getting back into the studio again, having just spent some 11 years apart.
Gradually that stance has changed though, as back in October of 2023, vocalist Chad Gray stated that the group had partaken in some early demoing of their first new material since 2009. At that time Gray also spoke of the challenges the outfit have faced in getting back into the creative mindset.
Now, in a newly shared clip from SiriusXM Octane filmed as part of a public Q&A at this weekend’s ‘Welcome To Rockville‘ festival in Daytona Beach, FL, Gray revealed that the band’s plans for new music have progressed considerably. Gray was quoted as saying in that clip [transcribed by theprp.com]:
“It is so real, and it is so beautiful, and it keeps me coming back, you guys keep me coming back, you guys keep me coming to the f*cking table. And we got new shit coming, so get ready motherf*ckers, it’s coming.”
Gray‘s significant other Shannon Gunz then chimed in, offering:
“The first time I heard [the new Mudvayne material] — and these are rough mixes — I was literally balling on the couch.”
Mudvayne‘s Instagram account also went on to comment on the below clip, stating, “WE ARE COMING THRU THE F*CKING TABLE SOON”. Meanwhile, Danny Wimmer, founder of rock and metal concert promotion company juggernauts Danny Wimmer Presents, also confirmed that Mudvayne have aligned with his own Alchemy Recordings label, in partnership with Rise Records.

In addition to playing tomorrow’s (May 18th) closing date of the ‘Welcome To Rockville‘ festival, Mudvayne have a fall tour booked celebrating the 25th anniversary of their game-changing, gold-certified debut album “L.D. 50“. That run will also find ‘evil disco’ purveyors Static-X marking 25 years of their own platinum-certified debut album, with Slipknot progenies Vended slated to open.
