Music in the Park is a free summer concert series, featuring live entertainment and family-friendly activities at Stradley Park in historic downtown Canal Winchester. All music and activities occur from 6 to 9 p.m. on the third Friday of May, June, July, August, and September.
This Friday features Touch-A-Truck, featuring music by Touch-A-Truck, featuring music by The Usual Suspects & Repeat Offenders. Visitors may check out public works and public safety vehicles from Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office, Madison Township Police, Madison Township Fire Department, Franklin County Public Health, South Central Power, Franklin County Auditor, Ohio Army National Guard, Rumpke, and City of Canal Winchester. Additional FREE activities include: balloon animals; inflatable bounce house; face painting by the CW Queens & Court; and more, Featured Food Trucks include: Little Italy, Roadsters, and Bubba’s Shaved Ice. Bring a lawn chair and a picnic, stop by a food truck, or carry-out from one of the downtown restaurants.
On Monday, May 12, the Wagnalls Memorial Foundation awarded 12 scholarships for a total of $18,000 to Bloom Carroll and Canal Winchester graduates from the class of 2025. The Wagnalls Memorial Foundation has awarded and administered scholarships for high school students who reside in Bloom Township since the late 1940s.
The foundation also assists the Walker-Hecox-Hickle American Legion Post 677 of Lithopolis to award scholarships as well. The legion awarded three scholarships for 2025 of $3,000 each.

Recipients of the American Legion Post 677 are Christopher North (Walker scholarship for CWHS graduates), Chase Hamilton (Hecox scholarship for BCHS), and Isabella Blair (Hickle scholarship for relations of members).
Following the ceremony, the Wagnalls Memorial Foundation Board treated the scholarship recipients, their families, and volunteers of the Wagnalls Memorial to a taco bar supper.

Lithopolis United Methodist Church will host its monthly Community Dinner on May 21. This month, they will be serving pork chops topped with apples, alongside red skin potatoes, green beans, corn, cake, and fruit. Dinner starts at 6 p.m. in the Multi-Ministry Center, 10 N. Market street. Church members encourage everyone attending to invite a guest and neighbors to share in the fun.
Bloom-Carroll U10 Select Travel Team Sign ups are now underway. Team members must have a 2016 to 2018 birth year to be considered for the Select Team.
This team will be coached by John Dawson and Matt Egginger. Practices are usually held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday at Roller Field, with some weekday games and tournaments in April and May.See BCYA – Bloom Carroll Youth Athletics Facebook Page for further information.
