The shows will take place at Devonshire Square next month.
The British Music Embassy (BME) will host a two-night showcase of live music at the first-ever SXSW London next month.
The BME is a collaboration between the BPI, the British Council, the Department for Business & Trade (DBT), PPL and PRS for Music, PRS Foundation and UK Music. Now in its 18th year, the BME has already become a mainstay at SXSW in Austin — hosting shows for over 700 UK acts since 2008.
Taking place from 7pm to 11pm at Devonshire Square on 2-3 June, the BME will spotlight some of the UK’s leading musical talent with a series of live shows. It’ll form part of UK House, which will bring together ‘innovative minds to spark ideas, forge partnerships and shape the future of the creative economy’ at SXSW London 2025.
You can see the line-up for the BME’s SXSW London 2025 showcase below.
The BME showcase will be open to SXSW London badge-holders and music festival pass-holders.
Speaking about the news, Dr Jo Twist OBE, CEO of BPI, said: ‘The BME has been a real musical highlight of SXSW internationally for many years, and a vital launchpad for British acts looking to reach global audiences. This year, we’re excited to be bringing the format to our very own backyard as part of the inaugural SXSW London, and to shine a light on some of the incredible musical talent coming out of the UK.’
Andrea Czapary Martin, CEO of PRS for Music, added: ‘We are pleased to support the BME as it joins the SXSW London line-up. BME is a unique showcase for the UK’s incredible songwriter community and has been instrumental in raising awareness of UK acts to the rest of the world.’
