Borders music festival given boost as bid for nearly £7k wins approval – Peeblesshire News

COUNCILLORS have approved a bid to support a Borders music festival with a reputation for excellence.
When members of Scottish Borders Council’s William Hill Trust Sub-Committee met they rubber-stamped the £6,750 application from the organisers of Melrose Music Festival, to be staged from September 5 to 14 this year.
The monies will support the development of a future fund-raising strategy, including applications to the National Lottery, and partially cover the costs of a performance this year of the British vocal ensemble The Marion Consort, specifically their concert and the work they will do with Melrose and Tweedbank primary schools.
