Bassist for seminal prog-rock band to play solo show at Wind Creek; Multi-platinum rock band also set – LehighValleyNews.com

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — A member of a band credited as the fathers of progressive rock will play Wind Creek Event Center, it was announced.
Also set to play the venue is a multi-platinum-selling rock band.
John Lodge, who was bassist for The Moody Blues for most of the band’s 54 years, will perform at 8 p.m. July 24.
And Staind, which sold 10 million copies of its first five albums, three of which hit No. 1, will perform at 8 p.m. Sept. 11.
Tickets for Lodge, at $39.50-$99.50, go on sale at 10 a.m. today, May 2, at the Wind Creek Event center website or at its box office at 77 Wind Creek Blvd.
Tickets for Staind, at $69.50 for general admission standing and $129.50 for seated wings, are one sale now.

The Moody Blues had a dozen Top 30 hits and had 16 albums that went gold or platinum, including 1967’s “Day of Future Past,” which is considered seminal to the prog-rock genre.
The Moodies had such hits as “Nights in White Satin” and “Tuesday Afternoon” and in the 1960s and 1970s and had a resurgence in the 1980s with “Your Wildest Dreams.”
Lodge wrote three dozen songs that The Moodies recorded, including the single „Ride My See Saw“ in 1968 and 1973’s “I’m Just a Singer in a Rock and Roll Band,” which hit the Top 10.
Lodge also released four albums apart from the band, starting with „Blue Jays“ with Moodies frontman Justin Hayward UK No. 4 and, most recently, the solo „Days of Future Passed — My Sojourn“ in 2023.
The Moodies also last released an album of new material, „December,“ in 2003.
The group was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2018 for “over 50 years of exhilarating and significant music that has influenced countless musicians and rocked fans around the world.”
The Moodies played Wind Creek, then known as Sands Bethlehem Event Center, in 2017 on its 50th anniversary tour.
The group also played Easton’s State Theatre in 2012, and sold out shows there in 2010, 2008 and 2002, when a second show was added.
They also twice sold out Musikfest’s main stage — in 2000 and 2007.

Staind had such hits as the gold No. 1s “It’s Been Awhile” and “Right Here.”
Since 2014, the 30-year-old band has played few sporadic shows and released only one disc in 14 years, 2023’s „Confessions of the Fallen,“ which peaked at no. 62.
Staind also played the event center when it was Sands Bethlehem Event Center in 2014.
Lead singer Aaron Lewis has played solo shows at the event center Lewis also performed at the event center in 2015, 2016, 2017, 2019 and most recently on April 10.
