Emerging pop five-piece Absnt Mind have shared new single ‘Wardrobe’.
The band tap into that great lineage of British boy bands, while adding a new, Gen Z spin. Building their support from the grassroots, Absnt Mind have already amassed an army of fans – with new regiments arriving every day.
Out now, ‘Wardrobe’ spotlights their unified creativity. The five-piece work together – they live in a shared house in North London, and utilise a home studio.
Blending digi-pop aspects with a taste for R&B, ‘Wardrobe’ allows each member to shine, while still feeling like a precocious, interwoven pop song.
Set to play the main stage at Brighton Pride, Absnt Mind – Alex, Ashton, Conor, Freddie and Oscar – shot the video themselves, taking an old VHS camera to Los Angeles with them during their latest Stateside trip.
Ashton comments…
Opening the new season of Absnt Mind, ‘Wardrobe’ is bringing the vibes we have all been needing! We made this tune with a spin on how it feels to know your ex is wearing your style but for someone else.
With Sabrina’s Bed Chem on loop, the inspo came on the way home from an Amie Blu gig with a dead phone and nothing to do but people-watch on the Piccadilly line. A girl got on with the flyest jumper, and it sparked this concept of your clothes living on with someone you aren’t with anymore – bittersweet that you made their swag but for someone new.”
Tune in now.
