Tariq Amar Devega, known professionally as A$AP NAST, marks his return with new single ‘No Hammer’ – a primer for a debut album.
Produced by Drumatik, ‘No Hammer’ is A$AP NAST‘s first solo release since 2020’s ‘Designer Boi’, filling in the gaps of an interim period that saw the New York rapper recalibrate away from the game.
‘No Hammer’ is a lyrical invocation. Over the nostalgic crackle of jazz loops and classic East Coast boom-bap, NAST reminds the masses of his origin story, where’s he’s been and where he’s going.
Nast is synonymous with the rise of rap collective A$AP Mob, a founding member alongside A$AP Rocky, Ferg, and later Playboi Carti. The collective released their debut album ‘Cozy Tapes Vol. 1: Friends’ in 2016, followed by a second volume a year later.
A creative chameleon long exploring the intersection between music, high fashion and street style, the Harlem native has collaborated with Converse and Reebok, and modeled for the likes of Yohji Yamamoto, Supreme and more.
