The wait is over, metalheads!
Our brand-new single “Templars” is now officially out on all major music streaming services, so make sure you give it a listen and tell us what you think! And for all you record collectors out there, the track is also available for pre-order on splatter vinyl (details below).
“We’re really excited to unleash our new single “Templars” because it signifies the dawn of a new era for us as a band,” Joakim says. “We’ve left the topic of the First World War behind us and are focusing on other themes – themes that a lot of our fans have asked for over and over. I’m happy to say we’ve listened, so it’s going to be interesting to see how they react to this! Going with this track as the first single release was a no-brainer. It’s epic, it’s dramatic, and it’s the perfect introduction to what’s on the horizon. I can’t wait to get on stage and perform this one live with the guys!”
Pär adds: “Every historical topic we choose to write about is very carefully thought out and intentional. The history surrounding the Knights Templar is something that has interested us for a very long time and we’ve been wanting to write a song about it for a while. “Templars” is a super atmospheric track which has given us a lot of ideas for live concerts and the upcoming tour. We know fans have been requesting a song about this topic so I’m pretty confident that they’re going to like it!”
To celebrate the release of our new single, we’ve also dropped a cinematic music video with a lot of action, which was filmed at two historical fortresses in Serbia! In this video, we present a fictionalised depiction of a possible last stand for the Knights Templar. There are some pretty epic battle scenes in this one, so we’re sure you’re going to enjoy it!

ABOUT “TEMPLARS“
“Templars” marks our debut release under our new record label, Better Noise. This song tells the tale of the rise and fall of the Templar Order, a brotherhood of warrior-monks founded in 1119 after the First Crusade, dedicated to protecting pilgrims and sacred Christian sites in the Holy Land. In 1307, King Philip IV of France betrayed them, driven by greed. He seized their wealth and ordered the arrest and execution of many, including their Grand Master – the supreme commander of the holy order. We like to think this song captures both their intentions and their end.
