Following one of the most successful comebacks in underground death metal history with their crushing 2023 release The Rebirth, death metal pioneers Deteriorot are back with another punishing visual installment. Today, the band unveils their powerful new music video for “Political Evocation”, the latest in a three-part series promoting The Rebirth.
A stark shift from the band’s usual themes of the supernatural and the undead, “Political Evocation” dives headfirst into the decaying fabric of modern society. Set against a backdrop of searing riffs and thunderous rhythm, the track delivers a scathing critique of political obsession, religious fanaticism, and the false realities curated through social media. The video itself is a cinematic assault, combining brutal performance shots with original film sequences that amplify the song’s message.
“The song lyrics are an observation of how society can get lost by obsessing over politics, religion, and falling into the trap of being divided while another side of it is oblivious and living in a fake social media world worshiping influencers and trying to be one themselves.”
But that’s not all — fans can rejoice knowing that Deteriorot is deep into post-production for their upcoming full-length album Awakening. Unlike the long waits between their past releases, the band is charging full speed ahead, ensuring that the flames reignited by The Rebirth continue to blaze.
