The music industry will come together on October 15 at Los Angeles’ Pacific Design Center to celebrate the City of Hope Spirit of Life Gala. This year’s honoree, Tom Corson, co-chairman and COO of Warner Records, will be feted for his work with the leading comprehensive cancer center. Michael Bublé is slated to perform.
“This year’s campaign is about more than fundraising — it’s about restoring the fullness of life,” Corson said at a May 20 gathering announcing the event date. “At Warner, we often say it’s not just about the song — it’s about the artist. In the same way, City of Hope is about people, their dreams and their futures. It’s an honor to support that work.”

Corson’s recognition as the Spirit of Life honoree reflects both his professional achievements and his enduring commitment to philanthropy. He has served on City of Hope’s board and its Taste of Hope committee, helping advance research and patient care.
Aaron Bay-Schuck, Corson’s partner at Warner Records and co-chairman/CEO, praised his colleague’s leadership at the function, which took place at Bird Streets members club and was attended by a who’s who of the music industry, including AEG’s Jay Marciano, UTA’s David Zedeck, iHeartRadio’s Alissa Pollack, attorneys Donald Passman, John Frankenheimer and Josh Binder among others. “Tom is a protector. He protected our artists, our team and our company during some of the hardest times, including COVID and the L.A. wildfires,” said Bay-Schuck. “And when cancer hit close to home, he protected his family and friends with unwavering strength. … That’s why this award is so fitting. Tom exemplifies what the Spirit of Life stands for. His leadership, resilience, and humanity inspire us all.”
“Like so many people, my family has been personally affected by cancer,” Bublé said in an announcement. “City of Hope is doing the work that changes lives. I’m thrilled to support this cause and help honor Tom, whose leadership continues to make such a deep impact.”
Added Kristin Bertell, chief philanthropy officer at City of Hope: “Philanthropy is what powers our pace. Every time the music community shows up, it brings energy, resources, and hope to those facing cancer. And it reminds every patient that they’re not alone.”

City of Hope is one of the nation’s top-ranked institutions for cancer research and treatment. Its longstanding relationship with the music industry dates back over 50 years, beginning with Warner’s own Mo Ostin in 1973.
