BEAUMONT — The 40th Annual Boys Haven Crawfish, Food, and Music Festival attracted a large crowd today at the Boys' Haven campus. The event, which was free to enter, offered a variety of food options, including crawfish, corn, potatoes, hot dogs, and Frito pie. Attendees enjoyed a diverse lineup of music featuring zydeco, country, Texas rock, and oldies.
Boys Haven has been providing essential services to boys in need for more than 80 years in Southeast Texas. Evan Penisson, the Crawfish Festival Chairman, said, "In the years it's grown, we've gotten more vendors involved, more food involved. You can come out here and get more than just crawfish now. I hope we get way bigger. I hope in the next few years we're selling over 10,000 pounds of crawfish. That'd be great."
Boys' Haven emphasized that in challenging times like these, the festival remains a crucial part of their mission.
