The Johannesburg event features talks, workshops, music performances, and more
The Africa Rising Music Conference (ARMC) has announced its full schedule of panels, talks, workshops and performances for its fifth edition, which takes place across May 22 to 23 at Constitution Hill, Johannesburg.
The daytime sessions include a Songwriting Workshop hosted by Manana, Bad Weather presenting a Developer Your Live Set masterclass with Jonathan Bandli and Money Badoo, an AlphaTheta DJ workshop led by Rarri, Ms Party, and Lelowhatsgood.

Panels and keynotes will cover topics such as Elevating Women & Non-Binary Artists in South Afirca’s Dance Music Scene, Echoes of Impact: The SAMPRA Development Fund, Audiomack – Revolutionizing Music Discovery in Africa, and Pitch Perfect: How to Get the Media to Write About You featuring Mixmag’s Global Editorial Director Nick DeCosemo.
Additional artists, industry staples and institutions set to feature include Yvonne Chaka Chaka, Msaki, Gigi Lamayne, Jack Parow, Sibu Mabena, Rethabile Khumalo (pictured), Rouge the Rapper, Busiswa and Sony Music Entertainment.
ARMC by Night will see music performances from local and international stars, include K.Keed, Shalate, Money Badoo and NOTBENJAMIN from South Africa, and Bony Fly, Charisse C, Mibsy, Samito, AŸA, Papa and OKE from further afield.

2025 will see the launch of the ARMC Demo Lab for the first time, where music tech and lifestyle brands will showcase products and be available to offer hands-on product testing and displays, as well as networking.
The Mamas in Music non-profit organisation, which aims to create opportunities and career advancement for Mothers in the music industry, is being spotlighted at this year’s edition.
Panel and keynote sessions are free to attend, while workshops, networking sessions, and access to ons-ite areas like the VIP Lounge requires the purchase of an ARMC VIP Ticket.
