Northern Sound System has once again proven itself to be a crucial community facility helping to uphold South Australia’s creative industry.
The youth-centre-cum-music-venue – which has been credited with helping launch the careers of Tkay Maidza, Teenage Joans, Elsy Wameyo, TOWNS and more – has announced an “unmissable celebration of music, culture and connection” slated for Saturday, May 24th. The event, presented in the lead-up to National Reconciliation Week, features a standout lineup of First Nations artists representing the richness and diversity of contemporary Indigenous music in Australia.
Set to headline the event is globally renowned synth-pop duo Electric Fields.

Consisting of vocalist Zaachariaha Fielding and keyboard player and producer Michael Ross, Electric Fields made history in 2024 as the first duo to represent Australia in the Eurovision Song Contest with the song One Milkali (One Blood), an anthem that celebrates unity and community. They were also the first-ever Australian entry to feature an Aboriginal language.
The duo was just recently honoured with the Keys to the City of Adelaide.
Also performing on the night will be celebrated hip-hop artist J-MILLA, the soulful R&B-influenced singer RIAH, and singer-songwriter Katie Aspel.
On May 24th, Northern Sound System will be transformed into an electrifying, multi-staged music venue, complete with food trucks, a licensed area, and a vibrant community-first atmosphere.
This glorious celebration will kick off at 4:30 p.m.
This will be an all-ages event. The tickets (which are notably reasonably priced, given the extraordinary talent on offer) are now available to purchase online here.
