Exciting news for Seaforth fans: the beloved Australian country artist has signed to ABC Music.
The independent record label welcomed Seaforth—led by Mitchell Thompson—by announcing that he’s releasing a new single, Her And My Hometown, this Friday (2 May), his first-ever release under the label.
“I’m so pumped to be working with ABC Music,” Thompson said in a statement. “It’s always been a goal of mine to release music back home and really build my story there.”
He continued, “Australia is where I grew up, and there’s no place like it – so getting to properly show up and give it the love and dedication it deserves, especially with such a great team behind me, means the world. This is the start of a new chapter after some big changes, and I couldn’t be more excited.”
By joining ABC Music, Seaforth becomes a part of a home that includes Australian country music icons such as Lee Kernaghan, Amber Lawrence, Adam Brand, Max Jackson, Travis Collins, Andrew Swift, Melanie Dyer, and many more.

In October, Seaforth announced the departure of former member Tom Jordan, while Thompson revealed that he’d continue under the Seaforth name. The good news, however, is that it was an amicable split.
“After some time away and much-needed conversations between us, Tom has decided to step away from Seaforth to focus on producing and writing music full-time,” the duo shared with fans.
In a statement, they added: “Mitch will be continuing Seaforth by himself to ensure the story is far from over.
“We’re still best mates and plan to keep making music together for Seaforth and beyond. This decision ensures we stay creatively and mentally in a good place, and we believe it’s the right move for both of us.
“Thank you for all of your support so far. There’s plenty of new music coming, and we hope you stay for the rest of the journey.”
In 2020, Seaforth were awarded the APRA Award for Breakthrough Songwriter of the Year. Their 2022 EP, What I Get For Loving You, featured their viral hit Breakups, Good Beer starring Jordan Davis, Queen Of Daytona Beach featuring Sean Kingston, and the title track.
The Unreleased Album, a collection of previously unreleased Seaforth songs, was released last October.
