Emerson will return on Friday 30 May with her highly anticipated new single Tip of My Tongue, a striking pop track that captures the raw, unspoken ache of unrequited love. Co-written by acclaimed producer Harry Charles, the track explores the painful tension between love and silence, and the scars left by feelings left unspoken.

Built around emotionally-charged lyrics like “sew my mouth shut just so I don’t shout your name” and “would you notice my scars?”, Emerson delivers a haunting vocal performance, layered over shimmering, expansive production. Tip of My Tongue showcases her gift for crafting songs that feel both cinematic and deeply personal.
Made possible with support from a New Zealand On Air New Music Single grant, Tip of My Tongue further comes to life through its upcoming music video, directed by acclaimed filmmaker Tom Grut, set for release shortly after the song drops.
The release comes as Emerson joins Frankie Venter’s Like It Like That North Island Tour, performing across Raglan, Hamilton, Tauranga, Wellington, and Auckland this May – celebrating her 18th birthday on the very first night of the tour.
Tip of My Tongue is set for release on Friday 30 May.
